In addition to everything occurring on a global, Federal and Provincial level, the City of Barrie has now declared a State of Emergency. It is important that we all #stayathome as much as we possibly can, to allow our healthcare staff the greatest chance of success. As a non-practicing RN, I appreciate these directives and the sacrifices of our front-line workers.
The Province of Ontario has also deemed it necessary to close all non-essential workplaces, effective March 24 at 11:59pm.
With regards to Real Estate, there are three main points that I think are the most important to highlight:
- Real Estate Agent Services have been deemed essential
- Business will be modified and not conducted as per usual
- There will be no Open Houses during this time
What does this mean for your Real Estate experience?
Real Estate as an Essential Service
As a Real Estate Sales Representative, I am permitted to continue to support you in closing any existing transactions. As well, if you are in a situation where you need to find housing, I am able to help you find and purchase a home. Send me a message if you are in a situation where you need to find a place to live.
Modified Real Estate Experience
In an effort to be socially responsible, I will be working with clients remotely as much as possible. I will be using virtual services to assist in all stages of buying or selling. I have already been implementing these steps with a great response from all of you! I will continue to pre-screen both clients and houses to ensure that we are only pursuing matches with high potential. Think of it like online dating – only swipe right on one that you could see yourself with long term!
I will also be selective of showings and the number of people being taken through a house to maintain social distancing measures.
Cancellation of all Open Houses
I had already taken the safety precaution of cancelling all upcoming Open Houses. This is now being suggested by the Barrie & District Association of Realtors. I will be considering virtual open houses as an option. So grateful for technology being able to help us stay connected and conduct business!
Thank you to everyone who is choosing to stay home and help #flattenthecurve! Feel the need to reach out? I am always ready for a chat at 705-716-2225.
